Telehealth Mental Health Services

What is telehealth?

Telehealth, also known as tele-mental health services are services provided through the use of electronic information and communication technologies. These services allow a mental health care provider to deliver services to clients in a different location or site. At CCWC, we provide telehealth services through telephone or video conferencing.

The benefit of telehealth services is that services can be provided to those who are unable to access CCWC offices as the result of various barriers including health concerns. A licensed mental health care provider will work with those interested in telehealth services to determine if these services would be both appropriate and beneficial.

How to engage in telehealth services

In order to engage in telehealth services, there are a few requirements that an individual needs be aware of to create a safe and effective environment.

Informed Consent: Having a clear understanding of telehealth services including limitations, benefits, risks, etc.

Space: Having a private, safe space free of distractions

Technology: Access to secure, reliable internet, access to video conferencing platform, understanding of how to utilize assigned technologies, web camera or smartphone
